I have no hesitation in recommending Tony Johnson as an excellent fitness teacher and facilitator at my local health and fitness centre.

In my capacity as a senior and experienced general surgery nurse I have advised many patients of varying stages of fitness to try out the sample course offered.

They have always found Tony to be helpful and accommodating thus encouraging them to join and enjoy the continual benefits that the gym and studio classes offer.

As a participant myself I and... my (slightly older class members!!) have continued to reap the rewards of a carefully organised and structured class testing both our mental and physical skills. He took on the over 50's toning class at very short notice and proved to make us feel safe and wellmotivated in his hands. The sessions are well worked out and the obvious anatomical and physiological knowledge is constantly apparent.

During my gym work-out sessions I am aware that he is interested in each individual and their needs - his constant encouragement and checking always welcome because his approach is totally non-macho and threatening.

However I have observed that the younger and very fit members of the "Harts Lifestyles Club" also appreciate Tony.

His encouragement, knowledge and cheerful, pleasant disposition will be a great loss to the club.

I have known Tony Johnson for over three years when he was acting as gym Instructor and I was a fitness trainer at the Lifestyles Gym at Lewes, East Sussex.

During this period Tony gave me a number of assessments and devised new programmes with the result that I have doubled my strength and reduced my resting heart rate by 20 beats a minute.

As a professional I have always found Tony to be both helpful and knowledgeable, always able to give sound advice and demonstrate the correct methods... when necessary.
